Beaux Arts Festival this weekend

Don't have anything to do this Saturday and Sunday?  I will be at the Beaux Arts festival if Davenport, IA.  A great show located right in front of the Figge Museum of Art.  www.figgeartmuseum.org
As a bonus there is FREE entry to the Museum this weekend!

This fantastic two-hour class starts with a Wine 101 Presentation. You will sample delicious wines and learn how to hold your wine glass, how to swirl and sniff, and what to look for when you're tasting wine.  Next, we break out the canvassas and create! Painting with Acrylics is made easy with instruction from professional Susan Kennicott. Swirl your wine and whirl your brushes, creating a new pieces of art and building bright memories wth friends!

University of Iowa Holiday Art Show

 Holiday Thieves' Market

The University of Iowa Fine Arts Council is proud to sponsor the Holiday Thieves' Market. This market is an indoor art exhibition and sale held annually featuring artists from all over the Midwest and beyond. Over 100 artists will exhibit and sell their original work in painting, ceramics, photography, woodworking, drawing, metal, glass, jewelry, fiber, and more!  The show has a juried selection acceptance process. Free admission for the public! In conjunction with the Holiday Thieves' Market the Fine Arts Council presents their annual wine tasting featuring Iowa wineries on December 1 from 12-2pm. This event is also free and open to the public with donations encouraged.

Painting eyes...a progression (but not complete!)




This is about 70% complete.  However, when painting anything with eyes, I always paint the eyes to put soul into the painting before I complete.  Then I really bond with the subject and which seems to make completing the painting much simpler!

Acrylic painting will be offered at the Corridor Arts Classroom in Solon.  This is a great location next to the Solon Barber Shop.  
Along with acrylic painting taught by myself will be watercolor painting taught by Lianne Westcot.
